Celebrate the start of school with a trip to the Jefferson County Fair! Our friendly staff from the JCS Transportation Department are on hand to collect your donations of school supplies for students in need every evening this week from 5-8 p.m. and on Saturday from 12-4 p.m. They're also happy to share information about how you can become a bus operator for Jefferson County Schools - a great way to make your mark in our caring community of educators!
Welcome back, JCS! We're so excited to begin another new school year with our students and staff. It's going to be a great year!
It's the first day of a new school year, and buses are back on the road! Remember to be patient and use extra caution while driving today, especially in residential areas and school zones. A big THANK YOU to our bus drivers for keeping our students safe as they travel to and from school! 🚌
A reminder that Monday, August 21, is the first day of school! We hope you've had an ✨amazing✨ summer and can't wait to see you tomorrow for the start of the new school year!
It's opening day for the Jefferson County Fair - come out and support our 4-H, FFA, and FCCLA students!
The start of a new school year means sharing the road. Please keep the following safety tips in mind when buses start rolling on Monday. We can't wait to see you then!
🚌 Be alert and watch for children, especially near schools, bus stops, school buses, and school parking lots.
🚌 Motorists are required to stop when approaching a school bus that is stopped with its red lights flashing and STOP arms extended. NEVER pass a bus from behind when it is stopped to board or offload children.
🚌 Be especially careful when children are present in school zones and residential areas.
🚌 Pay extra attention to lower speed limits in school zones.
🚌 Watch for and obey signals from school crossing guards.
🚌Only drive or park in authorized areas to drop off or pick up children at school.

We're excited to welcome 12 new international teachers to JCS as we continue preparations for the upcoming school year! Current international staff members were on-hand to greet and assist with the orientation of these new educators, who hail from Jamaica, Zimbabwe, and the Philippines through our partnership with Educational Partners International. Welcome to JCS!
We had a great time celebrating JCS teachers and staff today at our "Jump Start to the New Year" staff appreciation event! The new JCS Mobile Learning Lab led the way as teachers and staff from each school enjoyed a break in back-to-school preparations to check out the mobile classroom and meet new superintendent Dr. Chuck Bishop over coffee and tea. Thank you to everyone from our BRE community who joined us in "jump-starting" this new school year. You are going to CRUSH it!
We can't wait to welcome students back to school next Monday, August 21! Did you know you can visit www.jcswv.org/myschoolbus to learn your student's bus information and access required transportation forms? And our dedicated bus operators and aides will contact JCS families throughout the week to answer your transportation-related questions and ease those first-day-of-school jitters!

End of year fun :)
Staff got a chance too! Mr. Gill is such a good sport !
Mr. Gill our Interim Principal getting pie'd in the face !!! Our students raised 1,700 dollars from penny wars for Relay for Life. Our grand total was 3,100!!
BRE fourth graders recently culminated a year-long action project that has us ✨buzzing✨ with excitement! Combining community service with campus beautification, students identified a space on the Blue Ridge Campus to plant a community garden to help protect our native pollinators. By installing bee-friendly plants and a Mason Bee House, they created a 🐝bee-autiful🐝 space to benefit pollinators and their school community alike. Future students will continue to learn from these sustainable efforts by annually harvesting cocoons from the bee house. We'd say that's a pretty buzz-worthy way to end the school year! 🌻
We are so proud of our Blue Ridge graduates !!!! Class of 2023, you are going to do amazing things !
Please join us for an inclusive, sensory friendly, end of year celebration. See the attached flyer for the May 25th event at CTMS.
Aloha! Our third grade presented their play this week! Great work Mrs. LaVigne!
Our fourth grade students have worked very hard on a service project for BRES. Our 4th grade team is putting service into action and working on our community here on campus.
