Recap: HFMS scheduling night for rising 6th graders on Tuesday, February 10th at 5pm. At this meeting we will introduce some of our staff, share information on available classes in middle school, and answer any questions that parents and guardians may have. Students will select their classes for next school year at this time so that we can begin the scheduling process.

To help your child do their best, please encourage them to:
*Get a good night’s sleep
*Eat a healthy breakfast
*Arrive at school on time
*Take their time and try their best
Thank you for being such a great partner in your child’s success!

BRC Families: Katy Cox, our Communities in Schools Site Facilitator, received a $1,000 contribution from West Virginia American Water to support the purchase of Christmas gifts for students in need. Katy and the WV American Water team have already begun discussing next steps for future partnerships, including donations of winter gear, in-class water cycle lessons, field trip opportunities, and even having their mascot join us on Mascot Monday! We are incredibly grateful for their generosity and continued commitment to supporting our students and ensuring all of them experience a joyful holiday season.

I am writing to let you know that I will be going out on medical leave starting December 5th. I am hopeful for a speedy recovery and plan to return to Blue Ridge once I am fully cleared by my physicians.
During my absence, Susan Ziegler, along with the rest of my administrative team—Ms. Hazy and Ms. Ashman—will be here to support you. They will remain in touch with me throughout this time.
I will miss the children very much and look forward to returning soon. Wishing everyone a happy and prosperous holiday season!
Sincerely,
Sybil Terry
Today, our students enjoyed an amazing assembly presented by Coastal Wilds! They had the opportunity to meet a chinchilla, a blue lizard, guinea pigs, a Tenrec, and even a Millipede. It was a wonderful and educational experience to learn about these unique animals and see them up close.
Students who purchased a photo had their picture taken during the event and should have their picture with them. For those who ordered additional merchandise, items will arrive in a few weeks as they are shipped directly from the zoo. Once we receive them, we will make sure they are delivered to the students.
Finally, with the holidays approaching, I want to take a moment to wish you and your family a joyful and peaceful holiday season.
Warm regards,
Ms. Terry
Due to the start of hunting season, we’ll be moving recess indoors for the rest of this week to keep everyone safe. After fall break, we’ll take another look and let you know if anything changes. Thank you for understanding!
Today, we had a plumbing issue in the primary building. We were prepared to move the students to the Elementary building, however, thanks to our excellent maintenance crew the issue was resolved before having to do that. Students continued with their school day. We appreciate your understanding as we work to maintain a safe and healthy environment for our students.

Just a reminder that Parent /Teacher Conferences are cancelled for tonight due to the water situation we are currently dealing with. This was mentioned in my earlier message, but I felt I needed to send a reminder. We will be rescheduling the conferences. You will receive the new date soon.
