Jefferson County Schools (JCS) proudly announces the appointment of Ron Stephens as the Deputy Superintendent of Instructional Support. With a career spanning 32 years in education and a master's degree in education from Frostburg State University, Mr. Stephens brings a wealth of experience and a deep commitment to student success to JCS.
Mr. Stephens has spent 30 years of his career enhancing education in the Eastern Panhandle of West Virginia. Beginning as a classroom teacher in Morgan County Schools, he quickly ascended through various roles, including Superintendent of Berkeley County Schools. His roles have provided experience in student discipline, school administration, crisis management, alternative education, transportation, staff training, Title IX compliance, and more.
Recognized for his proactive approach to fostering inclusive environments, Mr. Stephens has championed anti-bullying programs and initiatives ensuring equitable education opportunities for all students. His advocacy for community engagement and collaboration has been instrumental in strengthening school-community relationships throughout his career.

Throughout his tenure, Mr. Stephens has demonstrated a steadfast commitment to supporting teachers, often drawing inspiration from his wife, who has been a classroom teacher for 30 years.
