The Jefferson County Board of Education announces the availability of a free breakfast and lunch each day for all students, regardless of income, for the 2025-2026 school year. Under the Community Eligibility Provision, applications will not need to be completed to be eligible for the free meals.

Dear Blue Ridge Families,
We are so excited to welcome you back for the 2025-2026 school year! We hope you had an amazing summer and we look forward to another wonderful year here at Blue Ridge. Please find the supply lists for each grade level. Our school does not require you to purchase any of the items on this list. The purpose of supply lists is to inform you of the developmentally correct supplies for your child if you wish to purchase them. Likewise, the law does not prohibit teachers from developing lists of items that parents/guardians may wish to purchase and/or donate for use of your child’s classmates.

*There will be a table set up for you to check in and find out who your child’s teacher will be and which building/room to report to at the correct time. You are also welcome to bring some, or all your child’s school supplies at these times to help lighten their load on the first day. If you are unable to come to our Meet the Teacher night, you may call the school office to find out who your child’s teacher will be on Friday, August 15th.

Blue Ridge Families: Well, we are almost there. Just 3 1/2 days of school left. Please encourage your children to come to school every day ready to continue to learn and have fun. We have a very busy week next week with the Kindergarten Recognition on Tuesday and 5th grade Recognition on Wednesday. Followed by our Field Day on Thursday. We will have a lot of fun. Please remind your children to continue to be on their best behavior so that they can enjoy the final days of school. Have a wonderful Memorial Day Weekend.

Blue Ridge Families of 5th graders ONLY: For the Adventure Park field trip, All chaperones and students must ride the bus. The park is not open to the public and therefore you are not able to drive your student or yourself to or from the park. If you have any questions, please contact Ms. Terry for clarification.

Blue Ridge Families... Summer Slide Bags should have come home. “Summer Slide” is the tendency for students to lose some of the achievement gains they made during the previous school year. Blue Ridge Elementary School students received a book and a math manipulative bag with cards with ways to incorporate the materials at home.

Parents: Due to the weather we have received over the last few days, we are having to reroute some buses due to road closures. Some buses may arrive later than usual. You may also track bus information on the Jefferson County website.

Dear Blue Ridge families, It is hard to believe that the end of the year is upon us. Please know that we will have a lot of information coming your way over the next several days. Coming up on Friday all Library books are due. Please check around your home and send in any library books your student may have. They are all due this Friday. In addition, if your child ordered a yearbook they will receive it on Monday. If they would like to purchase one, you may do that as well on Monday. The cost is $20. We accept cash only. Please reach out to me or anyone in the main office of the elementary building if you are in need of assistance for a yearbook. Thank you.
